It has been 4 months since we got the call asking "do you have any room for 6 morgan mares?"
On January 1st Alcye and May were herded onto our trailer and headed for Ron Johnsons farm. They hadnt had halters on in years, no handling, no hoof trims, no vet, no shelter - they had lived virtually wild for years.
Today, Alcye is on her way to her new home - with her new person. Kimberly has visited this little mare at Rons several times, bonding, walking, brushing, riding.... She fell in love. Alcye is the first of our 4 Morgan Mares to leave. Although she never was at our barn, Alcye seems to have found her way into our hearts. Ron and Ruthie have given her all the love and tools she needs to move on to her next step. With Kimberly at her side, Alcye has many adventures that lay ahead. They plan on trailriding all over the state - starting close to home and as the hours under saddle rise, so will the miles away from home. She will share her barn with 2 sweet geldings who will also share her miles on the trail. Alcye will never be alone, will never be hungry, will never be forgotten in a pasture - With Kimberly by her side she will move on to do exactly what she was bred to do - Live a well rounded life with love and support on all sides. If you happen to come upon a pretty black mare out on the trails, whether it be Acadia, Popham Beach or Orland - give them a smile and know that Alcye has come so far from her forgotten life in a field in St. Albans. Good luck Alcye and we will be posting many pictures and updates on this little mare - Thank you Ron, thank you Lisa and thank you Kimberly
